This video installation is based on the novel Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. It focuses on four characters from the novel, Peter, Clarissa, Elizabeth and Ms. Kilman.  Woolf’s impressionistic style of writing employing interior monologue and ‘stream of consciousness’ to emphasize character over plot allowed me to pursue my interests in the internal- people’s energies and the psychological.  I staged this version of the installation in a small wooden house in a found location as a part of a theatre festival, Fontera Fest. Two videos played simultaneously in the space, they are video vignettes of the novel.   One is a still animation, pictured here as “Ms. Kilman’s Chase” was viewed on a monitor in the abode.  The other a live action video, “The Four.” was projected on an opaque cloth allowing the image to be seened on both sides of the cloth as well as through the windows from outside of the house.  It was the first imagery someone saw when entering the space and the last when leaving.
